Bordeaux Saint-Julien red - 75cl
Château Saint Pierre
Grand Cru Classé 1855
Vintage 2021
Cave de France's note: A great wine from the Saint-Julien appellation, on the left bank of the Bordeaux vineyard, a Fourth Growth Classified Growth in the official classification of 1855, making it one of the emblematic wines of this prestigious wine region.
It presents a deep, dark color and an intense nose where aromas of very ripe black fruits - blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum - blend, enriched with elegant spicy, woody notes, and sometimes violet or tobacco depending on the vintage.
On the palate, this Saint-Julien combines power and finesse: an elegant and well-integrated tannic structure supports a dense, concentrated body, with a vibrant freshness and a long finish, offering great aging potential and evolving beautifully with the years, revealing complex nuances ranging from black fruits to spices and deeper tertiary notes.
The estate is one of the smallest Classified Growths in Saint-Julien, with approximately 17 hectares of vines planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon, supplemented by Merlot and sometimes Petit Verdot or Cabernet Franc, rooted in typical gravel soils of the appellation.
It has belonged to Domaines Henri Martin since the 1980s and is now managed by the Triaud family, who make it a point of honor to work with careful selection of grapes and meticulous winemaking to best express the typicality of the terroir.
The estate, discreet but respected, benefits from a strong historical heritage and produces wines that are both powerful, elegant, and deeply rooted in the classic Bordeaux style, capable of captivating both connoisseurs and collectors.
