Rhône Valley red 75cl
100% Syrah
Maison Delas & Frères
Vintage 2022

Cave de France's note: This magnificent Saint-Joseph has a rich history; the Jesuits of Tournon were already producing it in the 17th century. The Kings of France, we imagine, enjoyed it at their lavish feasts!
This cuvée is certainly powerful, with plenty of fruit and tannins. Blackcurrant aromas compete with notes of violet and crushed wild berries, creating a generous and perfectly structured whole. A wine for grilled red meats, it will also accompany strong, well-aged cheeses, feathered game, and stewed dishes. This wine has excellent aging potential.

Maison Delas' note: From Chavanay in the north to Guilherand in the south, the vineyard stretches for about fifty kilometers on the right bank of the Rhône; twenty-three communes in Ardèche and three in Loire.
Visually, the wine has a dark ruby color. On the nose, this cuvée is characterized by delicate aromas of blackcurrant and spices. The "François de Tournon" cuvée reveals a tender and velvety texture, yet with a very good tannic structure, fine and silky, guaranteeing excellent aging potential.
Delicate and appealing, this wine was already sold in the 16th century. It was appreciated at the table of the kings of France. It was between 1956 and 1969 that all the vineyards in this part of the Côtes du Rhône were grouped together and consecrated under the Saint-Joseph appellation.
