French Whisky 70cl - 48°
Single Malt
Pineau des Charentes Cask Finish
A word from Cave de France: The latest gem from Maison Tessendier! Visually, the whisky presents a golden hue, with amber reflections, and a slight brilliance. On the nose, one perceives quite smooth and fruity notes: grape, dried fruits, dried apricot, sometimes also evoking sweet almond or candied fruits, touches inherited from the Pineau. On the palate, the attack is lively, then the whisky balances to give way to round, silky, generous aromas. The finish, a little more "sweet spice," is pleasantly surprising.
This combination of liveliness, fruity sweetness, and subtle spice notes creates a rather "gourmand" and accessible whisky — a good compromise between finesse and character. It lends itself well to pure tasting (neat, on ice) but can also be used in cocktails, depending on your preference.
The Tessendier distillery is a family business rooted in the history of Charentais spirits since 1880, when Gaston Tessendier planted his first vines in the Borderies cru. Today, it is run by the fourth generation, brothers Jérôme and Lilian Tessendier, who combine tradition and innovation: while continuing to produce cognacs, they have diversified their production into whiskies, rums, gins, and other spirits. The distillery has a complete setup: vineyards, brewery, stills, cellars, laboratories, and can produce up to a thousand blends per year. Their very artisanal approach relies on rigorous control at every stage - from cereal cultivation to distillation, including barrel aging and blending - to create rich, coherent, and bold spirits, while showcasing family expertise.
