Sweet white wine 75cl
Petit Manseng
Côtes-de-Gascogne 2023
HVE High Environmental Value

Cave de France's take: Tariquet's superior sweet white blend from Gascony. We imagine the last thrushes of the year, vying with humans for the overripe grapes laden with natural sugar, before flying off to distant lands.
Equivalent to a late harvest, this sweet wine (it could even be called "liqueur-like") is an absolute delight: a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, delicious aromas of candied fruits and spices, and a cellaring potential equal to that of a great Sauternes... this delicious nectar will ideally accompany fruit salads, chocolate lava cakes, Tarte Tatin, or aperitifs with friends.

Domaine du Tariquet is an iconic Gascony estate, located in Eauze in the Gers region. A former Armagnac estate, it has belonged to the Grassa family since 1912 and has been passed down for five generations. For a long time focused on Armagnac, it became known in the 1980s for its dry white wines, particularly with the Classic cuvée, which marked a turning point in the history of Côtes de Gascogne.

Today, the vineyard spans over 1,100 hectares, making it one of the largest family-owned estates in Europe. Each year, it produces several million bottles of wine, as well as a significant production of Bas-Armagnac. Its vines benefit from a mosaic of terroirs ranging from sandy soils to clay-limestone soils, offering richness and diversity in the expression of its grape varieties.

The range is wide and varied: crisp and aromatic dry white wines like the Classic, famous sweet wines such as Premières Grives or Dernières Grives, but also rosés, single varietal wines, and more structured cuvées aged in barrels. All bear the house's signature: freshness, deliciousness, and elegance.

Visionary, the estate has always been a pioneer in its practices: denser plantings than average, carefully controlled harvests, temperature control from the moment of picking to preserve aromas. It is also committed to environmentally friendly viticulture, with reasoned vineyard management, modern facilities, and certifications that attest to its sustainable approach.
