American Whisky - 70cl 44°
Rye and Malted Barley
LIMITED EDITION
A word from Cave de France: A premium American whisky launched in 2024, SirDavis is the result of a collaboration between Moët Hennessy and the famous singer Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.
In its elegant and refined bottle, SirDavis's tasting qualities stand out for their exceptional richness and depth. One appreciates the spicy and woody notes from the rye, balanced by the sweetness and roundness of the malted barley.
The sherry influences add nuances of dried fruit and caramel, creating a tasting experience that is both warm and refined. This whisky, being the first spirit developed entirely in-house by Moët Hennessy in the United States, embodies a true homage to family heritage and the art of distillation.
SirDavis is named after Davis Hogue, Beyoncé's great-grandfather, who was a moonshiner and farmer in the Southern United States during Prohibition. SirDavis is produced in Texas, where it is blended, aged, and bottled, with offices located in Houston.
A whisky enthusiast, Beyoncé contacted Moët Hennessy to develop a new whisky. This is where Bill Lumsden, the other celebrity in the world of Whisky (Glenmorangie, Ardbeg), came in. He willingly worked with Moët Hennessy, Beyoncé, and blender Cameron George to bring this project to fruition.
They developed a unique recipe with a blend of 51% rye and 49% malted barley, while incorporating traditional whisky-making techniques inspired by Japanese and Scotch whiskies. This whisky is aged in American oak barrels and finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, thus offering remarkable flavor complexity.
In August 2024, Moët Hennessy announced that this product would be available in the United States as well as in select stores in London, Paris, and Tokyo starting in September 2024. Hogue, Knowles-Carter's paternal great-grandfather, was known for hiding bottles of whisky in the empty knots of cedar trees, allowing his friends and family to discover and enjoy them.
From its first tastings in 2024, SirDavis has been widely praised by critics and professionals worldwide.
