A word from Cave de France: This superb Saint-Véran (and I stand by that adjective!) has been a real success in the cellar since we selected it.
On the nose, it releases fresh notes of citrus, white flowers and yellow-fleshed fruit, with delicate hints of vanilla.
On the palate, this Saint-Véran combines liveliness and roundness, highlighting a fine minerality from the clay-limestone soils of the Mâconnais, an elegant structure and a gourmet finish marked by a beautiful aromatic persistence. This profile makes it a very pleasant wine as an aperitif or at the table, where it pairs perfectly with grilled fish or fish in light sauce, seafood, creamed poultry or aged cheeses, and it can also be kept for a few years to gain complexity.

Domaine de la Pierre des Dames is a family estate rooted in the Mâconnais, south of Burgundy, managed for several years by Jean-Michel Aubinel, his partner Marie-Thérèse Canard and, more recently, their associate Vincent Nectout. They cultivate some thirty hectares of vines and strive to work with rigor and respect for the terroir to produce a range of wines reflecting the diversity of local appellations, including Chardonnay whites like this Saint-Véran, but also reds and other Burgundy and Mâconnais wines.
