IGP OC - Saint Preignan 75cl
100% Chardonnay

A word from the winemakers: Pale color with silver highlights. Powerful, expressive nose, with notes of fresh banana, peach. Opulent, lively, rich palate.
Ideal pairing with seafood, fish, lobster, but also veal sweetbreads, suckling pig.
Saint Preignan is a family story and the passion of a team. For over a century, five generations have watched over the destiny of 75 hectares of vines.
Parcel selection, manual harvesting on the Domaine's finest cuvées... the work of passionate individuals in Pays d'Oc.

The Domaine / Château de Saint-Preignan is a family wine estate located in Pouzolles, in the Hérault department of Languedoc. It has been owned by the Calas family for several generations and is currently managed by Philippe and Pierre. The estate spans approximately 100 hectares of vines.
The terroir is very diverse: the soils include a very deep blue clay layer (more than ten meters) as well as schists, Villafranchian terraces, and clay-limestone soils. These soils provide water reserves, which helps the vines withstand periods of drought.
The cultivated appellations are varied: the estate produces wines under the AOP Languedoc, Pézenas, Faugères, and under the IGP Pays d'Oc or Pays d'Hérault. Several cuvées are offered in red, white, and rosé.

Regarding grape varieties, for reds we find Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot; white wines use Viognier, Roussanne, Vermentino (Rolle), etc.
The style of the wines combines tradition and modernity: vinifications are done to preserve the typicity of the grape varieties, some aged wines are more structured. The estate also offers more accessible, fruity wines, as well as cellaring cuvées.
