Chasselas du Quercy, AOC rum from Martinique, Tahitian vanilla, Espelette pepper.
A word from Cave de France: An original aperitif if ever there was one, Quercy des îles is special in that none of its fabulous aromas overpower the others, an absolutely perfect balance between 4 ingredients representative of France's extraordinary diversity: Quercy grape, Tahitian vanilla, Espelette pepper, Martinican rum...
We were among the first wine merchants to offer Quercy des îles in our shop. Its presence on cavedefrance.com was an obvious choice.
Discover this exceptional aperitif quickly, appreciate its sweetness, its roundness, its balance and its aromatic richness. Serve well chilled, a real treat!
The special feature of this aperitif comes from the maceration of exotic fruits, mainly pineapple and vanilla. These tropical flavours bring a sweet and sunny touch that blends surprisingly well with the local white wine made from Chesselas de Moissac.
Quercy des Iles also contains rum, which gives it extra depth and warmth. Rum, often associated with the islands, reinforces the exotic aspect of this lovely nectar.
In short, it's a drink that bridges the gap between the traditional terroir of Quercy and Caribbean influences, perfect for a fresh and original aperitif. It can be enjoyed chilled, on its own or with ice, and can also be used in cocktails.
A word from the producers: The history of Quercy des îles begins on the heights of the town of Moissac. Here, Edouard BOURREAU discovered the golden pearl, a famous fruit born from the lands of Quercy: Chasselas de Moissac.
Equipped with a small 20-litre press in his early days and after 1001 tests, Edouard mixed four French ingredients, all natural, from four paradisiacal regions: the golden Chasselas of Quercy, the AOC rum of Martinique, the exceptional vanilla of Tahiti, the AOC Espelette pepper with the character of the Basque Country.
A daring recipe kept secret to this day, whose blend of flavours and aromas gave birth to Quercy des îles. Edouard quickly surrounded himself with a team of friends, no less than 31 associates!
But he himself managed the product's referencing and marketing, mainly through short and specialised channels: in shops in Quercy villages and their surroundings, at wine merchants, in delicatessens, in bars and restaurants. A real success for its creator, who then decided to pass on the torch with the hope of new development. On May 31, 2016, Edouard officially handed over the artisan company, which moved to Le Bousquet, in Montaigu-de-Quercy (30 kilometers north of Moissac, north of the Tarn-et-Garonne department, Occitanie region, Chasselas de Moissac AOC area). A new adventure began.
