Malt spirit brewed, distilled, aged, and bottled in the Gers by the Leroux Brothers, owner-operators of Distillerie Escagnan in Eauze.
A word from Cave de France: This first 100% French "Moonshine" pays homage to the American alcohol secretly produced during Prohibition (it was then necessary to distill at night to escape the authorities). The idea is simply brilliant! First, due to the quality of the distillation in Pot still alembics and the ingredients used by the Leroux brothers, then by the spirit of freedom surrounding this once illicit product.
Prohibition often being the engine of desire, we will enjoy this Moonshine with extra pleasure and a thought for those who defied Prohibition in the 1920s.

Moonshine or "white lightning" was a term used to describe this clear spirit that was produced in illicit stills after dark to keep it out of sight.
"Les Bonhommes" follows this tradition of offering high-quality Moonshine… the only difference is that now the State gets its share. To give taxpayers their due to avoid all the excitement of smuggling and simplify distribution.
No need for a souped-up car to outrun the feds anymore. Now, we just have to load it into a truck. Most importantly, we've made sure that its distillation process doesn't cause blindness.
