Madiran red 75cl X 6 = €19.90 per bottle
100% Tannat
Château Peyros
HVE High Environmental Value
A word from Cave de France: This is an exceptional Madiran, produced only in great vintages from 55 to 100-year-old Tannat vines, located on a unique 1.5-hectare plot crossed by the Greenwich Meridian.
The soil, composed of rolled pebbles and clay, benefits from an ideal south-facing exposure for grape ripening.
Aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels, the Cuvée Greenwich develops beautiful aromas of black fruits, liquorice, and menthol notes, with a structured and elegant palate, marked by fine tannins and a lovely freshness. A rather powerful cuvée, ideal to accompany red meats, game, or dark chocolate. Exceptional ageing potential of around twenty years.
Château Peyros, whose name means "stony ground" in Gascon, is a historic property dating from the 17th century, taken over in 1999 by the Lesgourgues family.
Located in the Vic-Bilh region, in the heart of Madiran, this estate covers 20 hectares of vines. Known for its sustainable practices, the property is certified High Environmental Value (HVE3). The Lesgourgues family, also owners in other appellations such as Graves and Bas Armagnac, combines tradition and innovation in vineyard management and the production of wines renowned for their finesse and depth.
