Cru Bourgeois Supérieur
Vintage 2020
A word from Cave de France: Classified as Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, Château Saransot-Dupré is renowned for the finesse of its wines and the great consistency of its production.
This vintage stands out with its aromatic notes of black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), red fruits (Gariguette strawberry) and subtle touches of chocolate, violet, and spices. On the palate, it offers a fresh and balanced structure, with supple tannins and good aromatic persistence. This wine, appreciated for its roundness and finesse, can be enjoyed now, but will gain in complexity after a few years of aging (up to 8-10 years). It pairs ideally with red meats, game, and aged cheeses.
Château Saransot-Dupré owes its unique character to the harmony of four emblematic grape varieties: Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, to which a small proportion of Carménère is added, a historic Bordeaux grape cultivated to preserve its heritage.
Merlot forms the base of the blend, offering generous aromas of plum, cherry, and chocolate, while providing a soft texture and a beautiful length on the palate.
Petit Verdot, a powerful grape variety, complements this roundness with its intense structure and vibrant red fruit aromas, balancing the Merlot.
Cabernet Franc adds a touch of freshness and elegance, enhancing the whole with its liveliness and delicate nuances.
Cabernet Sauvignon, used sparingly in years of strong ripeness, brings rigor and structuring tannins.
Finally, Carménère, a remnant of the region's viticultural history, imparts a subtle and authentic aromatic dimension.
This clever blend aims to create a wine whose identity surpasses the sum of the individual qualities of each grape variety, to fully express the potential of the Listrac-Médoc terroir while respecting Bordeaux tradition.
