A word from Cave de France: I have to confess... despite being a wine merchant for many years, I was unaware of the existence of this small vineyard in Capbreton until recently! I didn't know that these Landes vines, whipped by the Atlantic wind, were destined for nectars other than great Armagnacs!
Les Pieds dans le Sable, both white and red, simply blew me away.
The winemakers explain the presence of two distinct soils that make the vineyard unique; The tawny sands to the East and the ocean sands to the West. The combination of the two creates fertile ground for this unexpected vineyard.
This cuvée is supple, very rounded. Aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries, and blackcurrants dominate. Low in alcohol (12.5°), this beautiful ruby-colored wine will accompany a wide range of dishes, Southwest dishes of course, but also platters of fine charcuterie, soft cheeses, and white meats in sauce.
