A word from Cave de France: I must confess... as a wine merchant for many years, I was unaware until recently of the existence of this small vineyard in Capbreton! I didn't know that these Landes vines, whipped by the Atlantic wind, were destined for nectars other than great Armagnacs!
Les Pieds dans le Sable, both white and red, simply blew me away.
The winemakers explain the presence of two distinct soils that make the vineyard unique: the "sables fauves" (tawny sands) to the east and the ocean sands to the west. The combination of the two creates fertile ground for this unexpected vineyard.
This cuvée offers beautiful iodine notes, hints of exotic fruits, and a lovely freshness, making it the ideal companion for grilled or sauced fish, aperitifs with shrimp or prawns on avocado, seafood, summer salads... a wine of sun, warm wind, and shared pleasure.
