Bordeaux - Haut-Médoc red 75cl X 6 = 18€ per bottle
78% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 8% Cabernet-franc
Château Cantemerle Second wine - 2018
Cave de France's note: This is the second wine of the renowned Château Cantemerle, a classified growth located in the Haut-Médoc appellation. Primarily made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with a possible touch of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot,
Les Allées de Cantemerle develops aromas of ripe red fruits (cherry, blackcurrant) accompanied by notes of liquorice, sweet spices, and an elegant woodiness thanks to its barrel aging.
On the palate, the balance is remarkable, with a silky structure, fine tannins, and a beautiful freshness. This wine is more approachable and supple than the grand vin of Cantemerle, while retaining a charm and finesse characteristic of its terroir.
Although it can be enjoyed now, it can also be cellared for a few more years (until approximately 2028) to develop further complexity.
Perfect with grilled red meats, roasted poultry, or slow-cooked dishes, Les Allées de Cantemerle has all the qualities expected of an elegant and affordable wine, ideal for discovering the expression of the great wines of Haut-Médoc.
Château Cantemerle's note: This finely crafted bottle stands out from its older sibling due to its ability to be enjoyed sooner.
With ethereal tannins and a very soft mouthfeel, the wine exhibits an appealing freshness, great finesse, and a finish elevated by an unexpected aromatic explosion.
But it is elegance that dominates and seduces. This wine can begin to show its qualities with family cooking, such as poultry, blanquette, or creamy escalopes.
