Château Grand Ormeau 2020
A word from Cave de France: Located on the heights of the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation, the Château Grand Ormeau vineyard spans 14 hectares, stretching harmoniously from north to south. The grape varieties, dominated by Merlot and complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, are ideally suited to a terroir composed of ancient gravel and sands, resting on a subsoil of clay and iron-rich soil, characteristics that give the wines their structure and finesse.
The wines produced by the estate undergo meticulous selection and constant attention at every stage of their production. With a clear ambition, the estate's objective is to establish Château Grand Ormeau among the essential references of the appellation, and even to make it the best wine of Lalande-de-Pomerol.
The proud and elegant Lalande-de-Pomerol wines from Château Grand Ormeau prove to be ideal table companions, especially for dishes such as grilled or sauced red meats, game, or strong cheeses. Their timeless charm and refined personality make them wines that appeal to both amateurs and connoisseurs.
The 2019 vintage reveals aromas of red fruits (cherry, redcurrant), plum, as well as floral and spicy notes, with a slight woody touch due to aging. The palate is supple and well-structured, with silky tannins. The finish is long and balanced.
