A word from Cave de France: Krug Grande Cuvée 173rd Edition embodies the ultimate expression of the Krug House philosophy, aiming to recreate the most generous champagne possible each year, regardless of climatic variations.
Crafted around the 2017 harvest, this edition is the result of an assemblage of approximately 150 wines from more than ten different years, giving it remarkable depth and complexity. The three Champagne grape varieties are harmoniously combined, offering a subtle balance between the structure of Pinot Noir, the freshness and precision of Chardonnay, and the roundness of Pinot Meunier.
To the eye, the robe is luminous, a delicate gold animated by fine and persistent effervescence. The nose opens with refined aromas of white flowers, yellow-fleshed fruits, ripe citrus, then evolves towards more gourmet notes of brioche, hazelnut, almond and pastry. On the palate, the attack is ample and silky, carried by great freshness, a creamy texture and an aromatic complexity that unfolds elegantly to a long, saline and perfectly balanced finish.
This cuvée is distinguished by its ability to be enjoyed both as an aperitif and with a meal, precisely illustrating the richness, consistency and demanding nature of the Krug style.
