Blended Scotch Whisky - 70 cl 40°

A word from Cave de France: Best known for being a light and accessible blend, popular with those new to whisky, Cutty Sark is also appreciated by connoisseurs.
Unlike some more robust or smoky Scottish blends, Cutty Sark is smoother and easier to drink. It is often recommended for beginners in the world of whisky. A subtle and fruity taste: It features notes of vanilla, caramel and dried fruits, with a touch of citrus. This lightness and smoothness make it pleasant to drink neat or in cocktails.
A light color: Another distinctive feature of Cutty Sark is its surprisingly light color, which contrasts with other whiskies that can be darker. This is due to a deliberate choice by the creators to avoid adding caramel coloring, a common practice in the whisky industry.

A bit of history... Cutty Sark was launched in 1923 by the British company Berry Bros. & Rudd, one of London's oldest wine and spirits merchants. This house is famous for its expertise in the world of alcoholic beverages and is located near Buckingham Palace.

The name "Cutty Sark" comes from a famous Scottish clipper (a type of sailing ship), built in 1869 and one of the fastest ships of its time. The ship became a symbol of adventure, speed and excellence, qualities that the whisky also wanted to embody.
A fascinating part of Cutty Sark's history is its connection to American Prohibition (1920-1933). During this period, alcoholic beverages were banned in the United States, but this did not prevent smuggling. Cutty Sark was one of the most popular smuggled whiskies, often imported clandestinely by famous bootleggers like Bill McCoy. In fact, the expression "The Real McCoy" (synonymous with authenticity) comes from the fact that McCoy sold quality alcoholic products, including Cutty Sark, without diluting them.
