A word from Cave de France: In the year of grace 1519, Francis I introduced the Romorantin grape variety to Sologne! This Cour-Cheverny pays homage to him through "La Salamandre" (The Salamander), the emblem of this great king of the French Renaissance.
With a brilliant golden hue, a nose of white flowers and light spices, notes of dried fruits, and subtly truffled aromas, this exceptional wine will accompany asparagus (a rare pairing!), fish of course, but also white meats and mature cheeses. We should mention that we know and appreciate the friendly winemaker, whose wines have been in our cellar for a long time and delight the palates of our discerning clientele!
Let's add that La Salamandre, like the red and white Cheverny from Philippe Loquineau, are prominently featured on the menus of the best (often Michelin-starred) restaurants in the region.
