Domaine de la Plante d'Or - Philippe Loquineau
Vintage 2020
A word from Cave de France: In the year of grace 1519, Francis I introduced the Romorantin grape variety to Sologne! This Cour-Cheverny pays tribute to him through the "Salamandre", the emblem of this great king of the French Renaissance.
A brilliant robe with golden reflections, a nose of white flowers and light spices, notes of dried fruit and subtly truffled aromas, this exceptional wine will accompany asparagus (a rare thing!), fish of course, but also white meats and well-made cheeses. We would like to point out that we know and appreciate the friendly winemaker, whose wines have been present in our cellar for a long time, and delight the taste buds of our discerning clientele!
Let's add that the Salamandre, like Philippe Loquineau's red and white Cheverny wines, are prominently featured on the menus of the best (often Michelin-starred) restaurants in the region.
And for what other reason should you taste this Salamandre? As Francis I used to say: "Because such is our good pleasure"!
