Côtes de Provence red 75cl
Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon
Domaine de Kennel - 2022 vintage
Organic wine
A word from Cave de France: Superb cuvée made from a bold blend of Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with no added sulfites.
On the nose and palate, a beautiful concentration of finely spiced aromas, raspberry and light smoke develops, with melted and elegant tannins.
The wine presents itself as a red true to its terroir. We will appreciate, for once, the absence of Grenache (a deliberate choice), which reorients the wine towards a rounder and more voluptuous structure.
Domaine Kennel is a family vineyard located in Pierrefeu-du-Var, in the Var region.
It covers approximately 38 hectares of vines, on an alluvial soil at the foot of the village, benefiting from excellent sunshine and soils rich in sediments.
The history of the estate is ancient: the property was once a dependency of the Abbey of Saint-Victor de Marseille for several centuries, before being acquired by the Kennel family in 1932.
From 2005, the Kennel family began a conversion to biodynamics, affirming an approach of respect for nature, soils, biodiversity and the quality of the grapes.
The vineyard is crossed by two rivers (the Rémin and the Farembert) which contribute to the freshness of the site and promote biodiversity and plant balance.
In the estate's range, this cuvée is one of the "jewels" ("Le Grand Cyprès"): it presents itself as a high-end version of the Domaine.
The name "Grand Cyprès" refers to a thousand-year-old cypress that stood in the heart of the vineyard, planted in the 12th century, a symbol of rootedness and memory, and which has become an emblem of the brand.
