Côtes de Provence white 75cl X 6
100% Viognier
Domaine de Kennel - 2022 vintage
Organic Wine
A word from Cave de France: A unique cuvée that embodies both the elegance and freshness of a Provençal terroir cultivated biodynamically. Made from 100% Viognier grapes, planted on a one-hectare plot with sandy, filtering soils - an old alluvial gravel pit - this wine offers a delicate structure, a refined aromatic profile, and a beautiful tension. The Domaine operates without herbicides or insecticides, using biodynamic preparations, which gives this cuvée a very "natural" and authentic expression.
On the nose, there are floral notes of white flowers, hyacinth, and violet, while on the palate, the attack is fresh and lively, gradually giving way to a fine, airy texture, with a beautiful floral length. The connection between fruit and minerality is evident, reflecting both the nature of the soil and the proximity of a waterway (the Real Martin) providing humidity and a favorable microclimate. The wine pairs ideally with shellfish, grilled fish, or, why not, a revisited bouillabaisse?
A wine designed to be accessible without losing its finesse.
Domaine Kennel is a family vineyard located in Pierrefeu-du-Var, in the Var region.
It extends over approximately 38 hectares of vines, on an alluvial terroir at the foot of the village, benefiting from excellent sunshine and soils rich in sediments.
The history of the estate is ancient: the property was once a dependency of the Abbey of Saint-Victor de Marseille for several centuries, before being acquired by the Kennel family in 1932.
From 2005, the Kennel family undertook a conversion to biodynamics, affirming a commitment to respecting nature, soils, biodiversity, and grape quality.
The vineyard is crossed by two waterways (the Rémin and the Farembert) which contribute to the freshness of the site and promote biodiversity and plant balance.
In the estate's range, this cuvée is among the "jewels" ("Le Grand Cyprès"): it is presented as a high-end version, produced in small quantities (approximately 6,000 bottles for this type of premium white wine).
The name "Grand Cyprès" refers to a thousand-year-old cypress that stood in the heart of the vineyard, planted in the 12th century, a symbol of rootedness and memory, and which has become an emblem of the brand.
