Domaine de Kennel - 2024 vintage
Organic Wine
A word from Cave de France: The vines grow on stony and rocky soil, typical of the Pierrefeu-du-Var region. This cuvée is vinified with indigenous yeasts, with a brief period on lees, which brings finesse without masking the freshness expected from this lovely nectar from the South. The nose reveals notes of candied lemon, pear, white flowers, fresh herbs, and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and round, with a beautiful texture, supported by mineral tension, a touch of honey, peach, and yellow flowers. It is best served at around 8°C and pairs very well with grilled fish, shellfish, or as an aperitif.
Domaine Kennel is a family vineyard located in Pierrefeu-du-Var, in the Var region.
It spans approximately 38 hectares of vines, on an alluvial terroir at the foot of the village, benefiting from excellent sunshine and soils rich in sediments.
The domain's history is ancient: the property was once an outbuilding of the Abbey of Saint-Victor de Marseille for several centuries, before being acquired by the Kennel family in 1932.
Starting in 2005, the Kennel family began converting to biodynamics, asserting a commitment to respecting nature, soils, biodiversity, and grape quality.
The vineyard is crossed by two streams (the Rémin and the Farembert) which contribute to the freshness of the site and promote biodiversity and plant balance.
