A word from Cave de France: Château Rousselle is one of those old Bordeaux estates (since 1636!) that has endured through time while maintaining its distinctiveness. As early as 1868, the prestigious Féret & Cocks edition ranked Château Rousselle 1st Bourgeois by order of merit. The very well-exposed plots are located on the right bank of the Gironde, between Blaye and Bourg.
On the palate, the wine stands out with a full and silky texture, dominated by aromas of ripe dark fruits, licorice, and undergrowth. More subtle notes of dried herbs, like thyme and rosemary, complete a beautifully complex bouquet.
After a few years of cellaring, the Cuvée Tradition reveals its full potential. Decanting for one to two hours allows its nuances and roundness to be exalted. It is a generous wine, both powerful and elegant, capable of being kept for about ten years. It brilliantly accompanies red meats, game, or aged cheeses, but can also pleasantly surprise with more daring pairings, such as a lightly spiced pastry. A true expression of Bordeaux classicism, this cuvée illustrates the continuity and high standards of an estate committed to the purity of its terroir.
