A word from Cave de France: The vines are planted on a very specific limestone soil of the region; the harvest is of low volume and very high quality. The wine is aged for 24 months in oak barrels, resulting in an exceptional Chinon. Its deep and captivating color is confirmed by a complex nose revealing chalky and fruity aromas. The palate, full-bodied and indulgent, is flavorful and lingers for a long time on finely woody notes, black berries, and sweet spices.
Owned by Maison Baudry-Dutour (Château de La Grille), Saint Louans is certainly one of the best Chinon wines we have tasted in recent years.
