A note from Cave de France: The vines are planted on a very specific limestone soil of the region, and the harvest is low in volume and very high in quality. The wine is aged for 24 months in barrels. The result is an exceptional Chinon. Its deep and captivating color is confirmed by a complex nose that reveals chalky and fruity aromas. The palate, full-bodied and gourmet, is flavorful and lingers for a long time on finely woody notes, black berries, and sweet spices.
Owned by Maison Baudry-Dutour (Château de La Grille), Saint Louans is certainly one of the best Chinon wines we have tasted in recent years.
