A word from Cave de France: Château Taillefer 2023 offers a very balanced, supple and elegant style. An aromatic expression focused on ripe red and black fruits, with floral touches and sometimes a slightly spicy or mineral nuance.
On the palate, it presents a velvety and harmonious texture, with fine tannins and a controlled density that gives it both accessibility and hold, supported by a pleasant freshness. Aging in oak barrels provides a discreet structure and additional complexity, resulting in a wine that is both charming in its youth and capable of evolving over about ten years.
Château Taillefer is a family property in the Pomerol appellation, owned by the Moueix family since the beginning of the 20th century, and spans a single plot vineyard of approximately 12 hectares. Its terroir, rich in iron oxides (the famous "iron dross"), is typical of the region and contributes to the wine's character, particularly its deep and sometimes truffled nuances. Managed with great attention to vineyard work and precision in winemaking, the estate is part of a rigorous Bordeaux tradition while seeking finesse and consistency from one vintage to the next.
