Bordeaux Pomerol red - 75cl X 6 = €107 per bottle
Merlot, Cabernet Franc
Château Clos l'Église 2022
A word from Cave de France: A Pomerol with a rich, deep, and very harmonious style, marked by the generosity of the sunny vintage.
Mainly made from Merlot complemented by Cabernet Franc, it develops an intense bouquet of ripe black fruits like plum and blackberry, accompanied by floral notes, spices, mint, and sometimes a slightly sanguine or mineral touch. On the palate, the wine is distinguished by a full and velvety texture, a beautiful concentration without heaviness, and ripe, structured tannins, supported by a freshness that balances the whole and prolongs the finish. It is a wine that is both seductive and powerful, with significant aging potential, which will gain in complexity over time.
The château is an emblematic property of Pomerol, belonging to the Garcin family since the late 1990s, who have largely contributed to elevating the estate among the references of the appellation. Its relatively small vineyard is located on clay and gravel soils rich in iron, typical of the best Pomerol terroirs, which gives the wines their depth and mineral signature. Managed with rigor and precision, the estate produces wines that are modern in their expression but true to the identity of the terroir, combining concentration, elegance, and consistency.
