Château Carbonnieux
Vintage 2023
A word from Cave de France: Château Carbonnieux produces emblematic wines from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, renowned for their elegance and consistency.
The red wines, mainly made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, offer a balanced profile combining aromas of black fruits, blackcurrant and cherry, accompanied by smoky, woody and sometimes slightly spicy notes, with fine tannins and a beautiful freshness.
The 2023 vintage is considered a success and quite typical of a modern Bordeaux, marked by relatively balanced weather with variations and a warm late summer that allowed the grapes to reach good maturity. The red wines are both ripe and fresh, with a strong fruit presence (cherry, black fruits), a supple yet dense texture and a beautiful overall harmony, while the white wines are particularly distinguished by their finesse, tension and clear aromatic expression around citrus fruits, flowers and a certain minerality.
Château Carbonnieux is one of the oldest estates in Bordeaux, with origins dating back to the Middle Ages, and today it belongs to the Perrin family, who have managed it for several generations. Located near Bordeaux, it benefits from a vast single-block vineyard surrounding the property, which is quite rare in the appellation. Classified as a Cru Classé de Graves for its red and white wines, Carbonnieux is recognized for its consistent expertise and its historic role in the influence of Pessac-Léognan wines.
