Champagne 75cl
40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier
Maison Charles Heidsieck - Reims.
Parker 92/100
A note from Cave de France: A prestigious house if there ever was one, Charles Heidsieck has been crafting divine Champagnes for over 170 years. A name, an international reputation, a Champagne emblem.
This cuvée comes from a rigorous selection of the best Champagne crus, and is composed of 50% reserve wines. Slow maturation in crayères adds to the excellence of the product. The result is a straightforward Champagne with fine bubbles, developing candied fruit aromas on a very appreciable creamy texture. A beautiful length on the palate enhances the whole. A safe bet...
A note from Maison Charles Heidsieck: The texture evokes the crispness of a layer of nougatine on a melting cream, with fleshy fruits, plums and cherries. The unctuousness is brought by the selection of reserve wines. The finish reveals amber and vanilla notes as well as a touch of praline.
Among the sixty Champagne crus selected to produce this iconic cuvée, three are pillars of the Brut Réserve style:
Oger: (Grand Cru Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs) brings its fleshy and generous notes.
Ambonnay: (Grand Cru Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims) is synonymous with power, structure and fruity notes.
Verneuil: (Meunier from the Vallée de la Marne), ensures its balance and creamy texture.
Vinification: Cru by cru, grape variety by grape variety, in stainless steel tanks; 5 to 10% of wood-aged wine, vinified in old Burgundy oak barrels.
