Cave de France's note: Veuve Clicquot Carte Jaune Champagne is the most iconic expression of the house. It is a non-vintage brut, crafted from a blend dominated by Pinot Noir, which provides structure, power, and vinosity, complemented by Chardonnay for freshness and Meunier for roundness.
Visually, it presents a brilliant golden-yellow color, animated by a fine and regular effervescence. The nose is expressive and gourmet, marked by aromas of white and yellow fruits, apple, pear, and peach, accompanied by brioche and slightly vanilla notes from aging on lees.
On the palate, the Carte Jaune is distinguished by its balance between freshness and fullness. The attack is lively, then the texture unfolds with a creamy mouthfeel and a beautiful length. Fruity flavors blend with hints of dried fruit and pastry, with a clean and structured finish. It is a versatile champagne, equally at home as an aperitif or with a meal, capable of accompanying delicate dishes as well as more savory ones.
To guarantee the quality and continuity of the Brut Carte Jaune cuvée's style, the blend can include up to 45% reserve wines. Veuve Clicquot boasts one of Champagne's most precious collections of reserve wines, with nearly 400 wines, some aged up to 30 years.
The Veuve Clicquot house was founded in Reims in 1772, but its destiny truly shifted in the early 19th century when Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, widowed at just 27, took over its management. Visionary and audacious, she profoundly innovated in Champagne production, notably by developing the riddling table, which allowed for the creation of clear wines. Thanks to her business acumen and dedication to quality, the "Grande Dame de la Champagne" spread Veuve Clicquot's renown across Europe and laid the foundations for the international reputation the house still enjoys today.
Veuve Clicquot House's note: Crafted each year from an invaluable collection of reserve wines, Veuve Clicquot Brut Carte Jaune champagne is an expression of the style and quality of the Veuve Clicquot House. The yellow label that distinguishes it from other champagnes reflects its luminous personality as well as the excellence of the House's savoir-faire.
Didier Mariotti, Cellar Master, Veuve Clicquot's note: Appearance: Tiny bubbles infuse Veuve Clicquot Carte Jaune, with its brilliant golden-yellow hue.
Nose: Aromas of peaches and raisins reflect the grape varieties, while notes of vanilla and toasted brioche emerge from the aging process.
Palate: Fresh and full-bodied, the Carte Jaune Brut is structured with a strong acidity and a hint of minerality.
