A word from the Estate: Elegant and heady, Domaine Tariquet's Hors d’Âge (or XO) is the jewel in the crown of the estate's traditional Bas-Armagnacs. A grand Bas-Armagnac, blending brandies averaging 15 years of age, to be served at room temperature after a meal or in the late afternoon to relax. Cigar lovers will happily enjoy it with a fine Havana.
An amber colour and a heady nose of dried fruits (almond) and quince paste, touched with dried flowers, revealing nuances of coconut on aeration. The attack is rich and honeyed. The palate shows a superb fusion of fruit and wood with controlled power on the finish. Accents of prune, almond, and rancio leading to a more toasted finish marked by subtle notes of leather.
