The Arran 14-year-old Private Cask, at 56.5% ABV, is the result of meticulous distillation and aging in exceptional casks (mainly bourbon and sherry).
Its controlled power and aromatic complexity are exceptional.
On the nose, it reveals aromas of tropical fruits such as pineapple and papaya, accompanied by floral and vanilla notes.
On the palate, its creamy texture highlights flavors of exotic fruits, creamy vanilla, and caramel, with a hint of soft spices.
The finish is long, marked by spicy nuances of ginger and pepper, leaving a warm and lingering impression.
This private bottling, with its high alcohol content, offers an intense and complex tasting experience, reflecting the Arran distillery's expertise.
The Arran distillery, located on the eponymous island in Scotland, is renowned for its wild beauty and rich whisky heritage. Founded in 1995, it represents a revival for whisky production on the island, which once flourished before a long period of inactivity.
It stands out for its artisanal approach and the use of local ingredients, notably pure spring water from the surrounding mountains. The distillery combines traditional methods, such as distillation in copper pot stills, with great attention to aging in carefully selected casks (bourbon, sherry, and others).
Arran is also recognized for the diversity of its expressions, ranging from soft and fruity whiskies to more audacious and peated versions. Its logo, a golden eagle, symbolizes both the preserved nature of the island and the nobility of its products.
