A little history...
The "Château de Laubade" House was founded in 1870 in the heart of the Bas-Armagnac region, in Gers, Gascony. Today, it is one of the most renowned and respected estates for Armagnac production. The château itself is a magnificent example of Gascon architecture surrounded by vineyards, with an estate spanning 105 hectares, exclusively dedicated to growing the grape varieties used to produce this traditional spirit.

For four generations, the house has been in the hands of the Lesgourgues family, who acquired the estate in 1974. The members of the Lesgourgues family have been committed to preserving traditions while modernizing certain aspects of production. Their approach is focused on constant excellence, relying on ancient know-how but with a keen eye for developments and best practices in viticulture.

Maison Laubade also distinguishes itself through its artisanal production methods. For example, it uses Gascon oak barrels, renowned for their unique influence on the aging of brandies. In addition, it cultivates its own vineyards with emblematic local grape varieties such as Baco, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, and Folle Blanche, which ensures the quality and authenticity of its Armagnacs. The estate also uses an Armagnac alembic for continuous distillation, a traditional technique of the region that contributes to developing the aromatic complexity of the brandies.

Another notable aspect is their commitment to sustainability: Château de Laubade is recognized for its environmentally friendly practices, such as the use of natural compost from vine residues to fertilize the soil.
Today, Château de Laubade is famous for its vintage Armagnacs, which sometimes age for several decades in barrels before being bottled. This ability to preserve and vintage great Armagnacs allows the house to offer unique and rare brandies. Laubade bottles are often prized by collectors and Armagnac enthusiasts worldwide.
