Tessendier Distillery
A word from Cave de France: After 3 years of aging in American oak barrels, this superior Single Malt from Maison Tessendier is finished in rum barrels from Barbados. The result is a beautiful vanilla dominance, with a background of spice, licorice, and banana. The palate is as pleasant as the nose is promising, with a lovely creaminess and a very appreciable length.
The whisky is made from French barley and distilled in a Charentais still.

The Tessendier distillery is a family business rooted in the history of Charentais spirits since 1880, when Gaston Tessendier planted his first vines in the Borderies cru. Today, it is managed by the fourth generation, brothers Jérôme and Lilian Tessendier, who combine tradition and innovation: while continuing to produce cognacs, they have diversified their production to include whiskies, rums, gins, and other spirits. The distillery has complete facilities: vineyards, brewery, stills, cellars, laboratories, and can carry out up to a thousand blends per year. Their very artisanal approach relies on rigorous control at every stage – from the cultivation of cereals to distillation, including barrel aging and blending – to create rich, coherent, and bold spirits, while showcasing family expertise.
