French Whisky 70cl 45°
Single Malt
Tessendier Distillery
A word from Cave de France: A straightforward and honest French Whisky! Direct and precise, powerful, and with a long finish. Arlett is the work of Lilian and Jérôme Tessendier, owners of the famous Charentaise Distillery of the same name.
Claiming to be "artisans of spirits," the Tessendier family set out to create a Whisky that pays homage to the 1950s (notably through the style of the bottle), and to Mrs. Tessendier senior, Arlette, whose character inspired her sons to find a perfect balance between intense flavor and controlled power.
Aged for three years in new American oak barrels as well as bourbon casks, it develops a rich aromatic roundness. On the nose, one perceives fruity and woody notes, supplemented by honey, cocoa, and resin. On the palate, its attack is clean and frank, with a beautiful structured amplitude and a velvety texture reminiscent of blond tobacco. Resulting from artisanal work from malted barley to blending, this whisky is the fruit of the passion of brothers Jérôme and Lilian Tessendier, who supervise each step: brewing, double distillation in copper stills, maturation in damp cellars, then blending and reduction to fully reveal its profile.
The Tessendier distillery is a family business rooted in the history of Charentais spirits since 1880, when Gaston Tessendier planted his first vines in the Borderies cru. Today, it is managed by the fourth generation, brothers Jérôme and Lilian Tessendier, who combine tradition and innovation: while continuing to produce cognacs, they have diversified their production to include whiskies, rums, gins, and other spirits. The distillery has a complete setup: vineyards, brewery, stills, cellars, laboratories, and can perform up to a thousand blends per year. Their very artisanal approach relies on rigorous control at each stage—from cereal cultivation to distillation, aging in barrels, and blending—to create rich, consistent, and bold spirits, while showcasing family expertise.
